Her story

Hi, I'm Madelyn

[Placeholder — Madelyn should write this in her own words.] I started crocheting because [reason], and the first thing I ever finished was [first project]. It was lopsided and I still have it.

These days I make animals with names and small wardrobes. Every one starts as a sketch and a pile of yarn on the table, and takes anywhere from an evening to a couple of weeks depending on how complicated the sweater turns out to be.

I make them one at a time, so what you see in the photo is genuinely what you get. If you want one in different colors, just ask — that's usually the best part.

Keeping them nice

Care instructions

These are made to be held. A little care and they'll outlast the kid who gets them.

💦

Spot clean only

Cool water and a drop of mild soap on a cloth. No washing machine — the stuffing clumps and the sweaters felt.

🎵

Lay flat to dry

Never the dryer. Press the water out with a towel, reshape by hand, and leave it out of direct sun for a day.

👀

Safety eyes locked

All eyes are washer-locked from the inside and every seam is double-stitched. Still, under three years old I'd stick to the ornaments.

🎄

Storing ornaments

Box them loosely with tissue between layers so the pompoms don't crush. They come back out each year looking new.

Tell her what you're imagining

School colors, a favorite animal, a full set of ornaments for a gift — describe it and she'll tell you what's possible and what it would cost.

She usually replies within a couple of days.
